Virginia Literary Federal Documents Depository Program

The Virginia Literary Festival is a congressionally designated selective depository library for federal publications serving the third Congressional District of Virginia and also the Richmond metropolitan space. The current Federal Documents Depository Program was established in 1897, but, the Virginia Literary’s Festival assortment of over 700,000 federal publications pre-dates the program by nearly a hundred years. Through the Federal Documents Depository Program, the Virginia Literary Festival selects approximately 0.5 of all materials revealed by the federal government for addition to the collection.
