Virginia Literary Birth, Marriage and Death Registers On Microfilm

Birth registers are arranged alphabetically, initial by county, and then by city, and document births within the Commonwealth, 1853-1896. The registers include date of birth, name, color, and sex of the child, homeland, father’s name, occupation and residence, name of mother, any deformities or circumstances of interest, and therefore the supply of the knowledge.

Death registers are organized alphabetically, first by county, then by town, and document deaths in the Commonwealth, 1853-1896. These registers embody full name, race, and sex of the deceased, date, place and cause of death, name of parents, birthdate and occupation of the deceased, name of the coroner and therefore the source of the information.

Marriage registers are arranged alphabetically, initial by county, and then by city, and document marriages in the Commonwealth, 1853-1935. These registers include date and place of the wedding, full names of husband and wife, age and condition, place of their births, place of residence, names of their folks, occupations, and therefore the name of the person performing the ceremony.
